The Longest yard
Directed by Peter Segal
Paramount Pictures (2005)
starring Adam Sandler, Chris Rock
The Longest Yard directed by Peter Segal is about a professional football player turned convict. In the movie The Longest Yard Adam Sandler plays the character Paul Cruse who used to be a professional football player until he was kicked out of the league for throwing the game for money. He then is sent to prison and must put together a football team amongst the cons to play against the guards.  If he doesn’t he will have to face the wrath of the warden.

This happens to be one of my favorite movies because Adam Sandler is one of my favorite actors.  He does a very good job at staying in character and he is very funny through out the whole movie. The scene with the most impact was when he was faced with 10 more years in prison if his team beat the guards or he could be released early if he throws the game but he decides he doesn’t want to let his team down again and they go on to beat the guards. They were believable because they had feelings that I can relate to.

Director Peter Segal  put a nice touch on the movie with the lighting. He made the jail seem like a very mean and dirty place and he made it seem like it’s not a place you would want to end up and it made the story very convincing. There were no CG or SFX but the music to the movie made it very powerful because it was rap music but it was very intense and it fit well with all these tough guys in prison.

You would not regret watching this movie because the actors and the great directing keep you captivated the whole time. It ranges from comedy to sadness there is never a dull moment.

I would rate this in his top five movies no doubt about it, this film is a great comedy also because it covers all senses of humor.

Signey P. is a huge the Adam Sandler fan.
