Absolutely. If you really need to use sex to sell a product completely unrelated to sex, for example, an IKEA kitchen gadget, then obviously your product can’t be all that great.

DO SOME ADS CROSS THE LINE FROM GOOD TASTE?
I’ve seen very few ads that actually have good taste. Crossing the line in a sexual way would be even more difficult but I assume it could be done without coming off as raunchy or simply inappropriate.

I believe advertising does use sex a lot to sell their product and they’ve increased the amount they use over the years. I am not sure if it is good or bad.
