I chose the quote “I would suggest that if you were to put the TV in the classroom, it would blow the classroom to bits. The teacher processes would be completely transformed: it would be exactly like bringing the Trojan horse inside the walls of Troy.”
This quote could have plural meanings to it however this is how I interpret the quote. The quote is more of an expression and has another meaning to it than what it might seem. It is not meant to be taken literally. I think it means that a TV can teach people so much more than a textbook or a teacher ever could. It can “blow people’s minds” with information. Teaching with a TV can change the way people see and understand things. I believe that he is trying to say that it can cause a “war” or a debate when mentioning a “Trojan horse inside the wall of Troy.” I so agree with Marshall McLuhan. I believe that technology has taught people so much.
This quote relates to media because it refers directly to a television. Television has a major connection to media. It is the way that most people receive their media from. Media on television includes shows, commercials, music, music videos, news, etc.
